General Information

This conference focuses on recent research in various topics addressing the economics of risk. Topics include the extension of models of risk preferences to examine "higher-order" risk preferences, the application of Bayesian methods to infer risk preferences at the individual level, examination of the risk perceptions that underly judgments by individuals as well as judgments about individuals, the role of risk in networks, the use of index insurance products to manage risk in developing countries, the elicitation of risk preferences of elephants, and the importance of risk management of existential risks in the evolution of humans.

Organizer

Glenn Harrison from GSU is the primary organizer of this workshop. He is a University Distinguished Professor, the C.V. Starr Chair of Risk Management and Insurance, and the Director of CEAR. Funding

CEAR will reimburse travel expenses for one presenter per paper, with the usual university restrictions applying: lowest reasonable economy airfare, additional services at the hotel are at your own expense, etc.

Lodging

CEAR will contact the presenters directly to determine their lodging needs. CEAR will make hotel bookings on behalf of the presenters and will pay for up to three (3) room nights per presenter. In some cases, it may be cost-effective to stay an additional night to obtain a lower airfare ticket, so please discuss your circumstances with CEAR as we approach the event.
