This conference brings together leading researchers in the profession who are working to gain a better understanding of the relationships among technological development, corporate innovation activity, and corporate finance. The conference program includes empirical and theoretical papers that examine not only how new technologies impact early-stage financing, but also how investment policies affect patenting, innovation, and the boundaries of the firm.
Keynote Speaker
The keynote speaker for this conference is Wei Jiang (Emory University). Dr. Jiang earned her PhD in Economics from the University of Chicago in 2001. She is a Senior Fellow at the Program on Corporate Governance at Harvard Law School, and a Research Associate of the NBER (Law and Economics, and Corporate Finance). Her main research interests lie in corporate governance, institutional investors, technology and financial markets. She has published extensively in top finance, economics, and law journals, and received numerous awards for research excellence. Prior to joining the faculty at Emory in 2022, she was the Arthur F. Bruns Professor of Free Competitive Enterprise at Columbia Business School, Columbia University, as well as previously serving as Vice Dean (for Curriculum and Instruction) at Columbia Business School.
